Reaching New Heights

Good work deserves to be celebrated! The traditional topping out ceremony has taken place – the bouquet has been placed on the highest point of our latest development.

At Kolping, construction is nothing new. We’re constantly improving our – soon to be 30-year-old – hotel. Usually, it’s our guests who benefit from these upgrades. This time, however, the hotel’s owners have decided to create a new building that will provide accommodation for our team members. The aim of the project is to enable new colleagues to join our team even from distant parts of the country – or the world. It also offers a great opportunity for young professionals at the start of their careers, who are not only looking for a job, but a place to live as they build a life together.

We have always placed great value on preserving traditions. In keeping with this spirit, a decorative bouquet was raised to the top of the building on May 7. It was placed by Csaba Baldauf, the hotel’s general manager, who thanked the architects, the general contractor and subcontractors for their work, and the hotel’s owners for supporting the development. Attendees of the topping out ceremony also got a first glimpse inside the building.

The construction is financed by the hotel’s operator from its own resources and a bank loan. The building will meet the highest energy efficiency standards and will be equipped with solar panels and a heat pump. The doors and windows are rated in the highest energy class. The building will feature 4 apartments and 12 rooms, with space to accommodate up to 40 people. It’s safe to say that this is not going to be a basic workers’ accommodation – we are ensuring 4-star comfort for our team members as well.

The colourful bouquet, made from flowers picked in the Kolping Park, now proudly waves atop the new building – and construction continues. Everything is on schedule, with the opening expected in mid-October.
